Brisbane...the other side.

Now I've been hearing about all of the creatures I have to look out for...the spiders that are the size of my dog...literally, maybe even bigger. Thats a Huntsman Spider I believe.
Then the little ones, with the red backs, that will kill me. And apparently Lorne and Tam found one in there house not too long ago.
The carpet snakes that 70% of Brisbane homes have in there roofs. (I have a hole in the ceiling of my room by the way...renovations)
The top 10 most deadly snakes live outside the door.

Then theres the little geckos I've seen and the Ibis, or seagulls of Australia, pest birds, always begging. etc etc.... Its still really awesome here though, beautiful and perfect climate, especially for a Canuck starting in their winter, perfect, haha!

Brisbane (First Impressions and First Day)

Well, Brisbane is completely beautiful. COMPLETELY, more tropical than I thought, with all kinds of crazy trees and villa-type housing. Its really amazing and so laid back. Nobody seems upset or stressed. Just a complete "tomorrows another day" attitude.

Today Lorne took me on "City Cat" with Damien (a friend of his) which is a waterborn cab essentially. It travels along the Brisbane river, which cuts right through or "around" downtown Brisbane. After the amazing views we got from that, we went and enjoyed a meat pie...which is apparently VERY Aussie. To me it sounded like a Sunday dinner, but they were different and VERY good. I got Steak and Currie, reminded me of eating Indian food with Ashley, really good though. We ate it right in front of the man-made beach "South-bank" I think its called.

Anyway, so far its been a great day, haven't slept in many many hours though, its starting to get to me as we speak. But I'm off for now to experience some more and learn some more Aussie slang.

In Japan...

-They eat weird food...seaweed, nasty noodles, ice cream and yogurt that looks like guacamole (its green tea ice cream)
-everything is retardedly advanced and lazy...theres trains from one building to the next
-they sell perfume, makeup, cigarettes and alcohol as if they were staple food products
-prices are insanely high, like 120 yen for a coke...do the math and youll realize thats a lot
-Their language is crazy, as are the keyboards...hence the >>> といまのはこのと
-The terrain is very very flat and sparse or spread out
-Its warm in the day and bitter at night
-it gets dark REALLY early...compared to home right now

Anyway...a little taste of Japan

Peace, Love and Prayers!

Japan?

A quick update from my stop in Japan. These keyboards are \crazy...anyway...

I have had great flights so far, missing home very much, but knowing the growth I experience will be worth more than the pain. I had quite a wide array of people sitting next to me from flgiht to flight. A 60 year old drunkard, a mute and a large...quiet Japanese lady. But its been an amazing adventure so far seeing so much of the beauty and diversity in Gods beautiful creation.

Peace, Love and Prayers all!!

P.S. I want to live in Vancouver, its beautiful!

I'm Off

Hello All,

Well, the day has arrived (although I'm cheating its actually the night before the day I leave)! Anyhow, I'm leaving tomorrow, I don't know if I'm sad or insanely excited. Obviously at this point theres elements of both, sad to lose the known and familiar and excited to enter a new unknown world and have a powerful 6 months.

Finished packing after many sleepless nights full of stress and worry. But it was all worth and I'm be back in the 'Shwa before you know it! Much to your dismay, haha, just kidding. I'm set for this adventure and have been praying for it and getting support and prayer from others for months now. I thank you all, the next time you hear from me you will be hearing about Australia!! Much Love and God Bless!

Peace, Love and Prayers!!

New Blog

Hey Everyone!

Well, I stole Ryan Szabo's idea. I realized how easy it was to let everyone know how I am and what I'm experiencing in this fashion after Ryans trip to Oz. He was visiting to see a completely powerful conference that I know he got a lot out of, I was influenced just by reading about his experiences.

Anyway, in this "blog" I will be able to give consistant updates, you don't need email to read them, and I can get easy short comments from anyone who wishes to do so. I also like the idea that this is kind of open to anyone as well. So my experiences may possibly influence someone I don't know!

I've got a couple weeks before I leave, but I thought I would set this up and see how it works out! I'm totally pumped for the experiences I will encounter on my Mission Trip with YWAM (Youth With a Mission). I am going to get to "know God and make Him known" (YWAM's slogan). I have been praying for my trip and know lots of people have, I thank you all so much for the support, its been completely amazing. God has so much in store for me, and I will keep you all posted back home.

Peace, Love and Prayers!!
